The Defence Innovation Partnership drives defence-related research and development in South Australia by fostering collaboration between Defence SA, Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), local universities, and industry.

The Defence Innovation Partnership builds research collaboration to deliver innovative solutions by:

  • Supporting defence-relevant collaborations through grants
  • Attracting R&D funding to South Australia
  • Translating defence and national security R&D

Key Projects

The Defence Innovation Partnership offers the Collaborative Research Fund and Activator Fund to support defence-relevant innovation and collaboration across government, industry and academia.

The Defence Innovation Partnership also works with the South Australian Space Industry Centre to deliver the South Australian Space Collaboration and Innovation Fund to support the development of innovative South Australian space capability.

So far, we've provided around $10 million in funding to support local defence and space innovation and R&D.
